Event Description

Celebrate the beauty of autumn on an easy-going 2-mile hike with Robert Ayotte through the colorful woods around the Eddy Discovery Center. This guided walk is perfect for nature lovers of all ages – from curious beginners to experienced enthusiasts. As you stroll along flat to gently rolling trails, you’ll take a closer look at trees and shrubs that define the fall landscape.

You’ll learn:

  • Why leaves change color and how to recognize common fall foliage
  • What kinds of fruits, nuts, and berries are out this time of year
  • How trees and shrubs prepare for winter dormancy

This will be a relaxed, family-friendly outing focused on enjoying the season while discovering the fascinating lives of woody plants in fall. Binoculars and/or hand lens are recommended for a closer look.

The building is closed so program will be entirely outdoors. P

Cost: $2/person or $5/family.
