Ann Arbor Fall Guide - kids in winter gear walk & hold fall leaves walk down a path through fall trees with yellow leaves

Guide to Ann Arbor Fall Fun

What’s your favorite part of Ann Arbor fall? Mine is probably the donuts and cider that are available. Fall in Ann Arbor has so much to offer!

You can head to the apple orchard for cider, caramel apples, and cider. Take a hay ride. Get lost in a corn maze.

Don’t forget to cheer on Michigan Football. And of course there is Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Head to the Farm

Apple Orchards, Cider Mills, Corn Mazes, & Pumpkin Patches

For me the first sign of fall (other than kids returning to school), is the start of the apple picking season. We are lucky to have so many great orchards and cider mills in the Ann Arbor area. 2025 looks to be a good year for Michigan apples with them arriving early. Fall is also the season for raspberry picking – until the first frost.

A little later in the fall season, don’t forget to pick pumpkins! Or take stroll through a corn maze – just be careful not to get lost.

Enjoy Football – Michigan Football, EMU Football, & High School Football

Of course in a college town, fall means College Football. Check out our tips for attending a Michigan Football game with kids or experiencing game day without tickets.

UM Is not the only game in town. Head next door to Ypsilanti for an Easter Michigan game on their grey turf. It’s a great options for families with less expensive tickets, easier parking, and less crowds.

Friday night is high school football. Check out a game at one of our local high schools. Homecoming parades are also a great way to introduce your child to high school. Typically in addition to the football team, you’ll see the band, other sports team, and school clubs.

We are working to gather homecoming parade information for local high schools.

Fall Mom2Mom Sales

Mom2Mom sales are a great way to replenish your child’s wardrobe (and kid gear) for less. The fall Mom2Mom sale is usually fairly short – mainly September and October. Unfortunately in recent years we have seen a decrease in the number of Mom2Mom sales.
