The month of March can be anywhere from unseasonably warm to bitter cold. For the Red-winged Blackbird, it won’t matter. If it is March, they’re already setting up territory and getting ready for the year ahead. Join Lake Erie Metropark for a walk to learn the lifeways of this common marsh bird.

What to Expect:
This program is entirely outdoors. The time, approximately 120 minutes, will be spent on a leisurely walk in the park, with frequent stops. It will conclude at the Lake Erie Marshlands Museum. The planned path surface is a combination of dirt/gravel and boardwalk. It is mostly flat and level.

Ages: 8 and up.

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program.

Vehicle admission is $10/day or $40/year for residents of Washtenaw, Oakland, Wayne, Macomb, and Livingston Counties.
