In honor of Juneteenth, join the African American Cultural & Historical Museum of Washtenaw County, Ypsilanti Township, and Washtenaw County to cleanup Woodlawn Cemetery – the only black cemetery in Washtenaw County.
Woodlawn Cemetery has been abandoned since 1965. It needs significant work and they need the community’s help! Grab your gardening gloves, gardening shears and a tree cutters if you have them and help us uncover the over 150 burials covered by overgrowth.
