April 1 may be April Fools Day, but Ann Arbor will be feeling Foolish until mid April with FoolMoon & FestiFools! Spring is here and that brings spring break and Easter to start the month. Finally, the month wraps up with Earth Month.
Arbor Annie’s Flight Plan is a new feature for 2026. Each month, it will give an overview of the full month. It will generally have less of a focus on events, and more on general activities.

Building a Greener Nest
Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22nd with most events in the area scheduled for the following weekend. This month we’re highlighting some ways to help save the planet.
Shopping sustainably is a great way to save the planet. When shopping for kids, check out the Mom2Mom sales this spring. Thrift, resale and consignment shops are also a great way to shop – or to give items you no longer need a new life.
And while we’re saving the planet, it’s the perfect time to get out and enjoy the planet! Head out to some of our favorite places to see animals and maybe you’ll see new babies in spring. Or head to a nature preserve or park for a walk through the spring forest (just remember to take your allergy medicine).
