NASA Movies
There are several movie options – Hidden Figures, Apollo 13, October Sky, and more. My teen has seen Hidden Figures and October Sky, but I think she would also like Apollo 13.
Science Projects
Challenge the kids to create a moon lander to protect an egg dropped from above. Provide various recyclables from home or the Scrap Box for the kids to build their moon lander. This has always been a huge hit with my daughter and her friends.
Build your own bottle rocket. There are several options available online. I found these instructions on eHow that use fairly simple materials. You can also make a more complex rocket that uses PVC pipes. This one is a stomp rocket which launches a paper rocket by stomping on the bottle. Here is one that uses a bicycle tire pump.

I browsed through Pinterest and found a few other ideas for moon landing crafts. I created a Moon Landing Board, with content from making foil moons, to cardboard box spaceships, to astronauts and rockets plus some science experiments.
