Are you looking for some fun ideas for family fun on Mother’s Day? Don’t miss our roundup of Mother’s Day events! But, beyond the events, there are plenty of fun activities that you can do as a family.

Indoor Mother’s Day Ideas
Mother’s Day would be the perfect day to visit the UM Museum of Natural History which reopened in its new location last month.

The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is always fun – and it is great for all ages. A membership includes grandparents, so it is a good option for multi-generational fun. This weekend is their Critters Up Close partnership with Leslie Science & Nature Center.

There are several great movies in theaters now. We have enjoyed a couple of movies that are currently in theaters: Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel.

Bowling is also a lot of family fun. We’ve enjoyed Revel & Roll several times. It’s a step up from a traditional bowling alley.

There are some guided hikes which are listed in our Mother’s Day Events. Plus check out these recommendations for family hikes.

Plus, check out our Playground Profiles series, particularly the Mess-Free Playgrounds.

A visit to the Matthaei Botanical Gardens also makes a great Mother’s Day activity. Although, this can be a tough activity for anyone who suffers from seasonal allergies. I know my daughter has been pretty bad the last week.

Beyond Ann Arbor, we always have a great time at Greenfield Village. It is the last day of Day Out with Thomas. Many years ago, we celebrated Mothers’ Day at Day Out With Thomas. Even if you can’t get tickets to ride Thomas, you can still participate in the other Thomas activities.

Miniature Golf is always a fun family event. After rumors of a possible closure after the 2016 season, Putterz has returned for the 2019 season.
